A Mermaid’s View – The Best Seats On A Plane!

Hey Everyone!

It’s been a long minute. Today I wanted to talk about something that I find semi-important and somewhat essential for us self-made travel photographers (lol) when booking a trip. Especially for those long flights to your destination!

And, what matters the most other than comfort to me is… you guessed it! A great view!!!! And that all depends on seating! OMG! Seating on a plane matters the most to me especially because I’m always taking pictures of every damn thing from the airport, to the destination.

The one seat I highly recommend avoiding is any of the middle seats. That is unless you travel with children. If you’re travelling with children or family then I would highly recommend that you call your travel agent as soon as possible or go online to book your seat in advanced. Nothing worse than being split up on a flight when children are involved.

But aside from that, I just find it (being in the middle seat) so uncomfortable and being that I travel alone most of the time, being stuck in between two people is so annoying, and on top of that, you don’t really have control over seeing a great view without reaching over the person at the window seat to take a peak. Ugh, so unnecessary. Which is why, in my opinion the window seat is the best! Especially if you want a good overall view of the take off, the clouds, the landing, or the overall view of the island or destination itself! OMG! I just live for this! You can get some of the most breathtaking shots from just the plane itself. But you have to be careful because NOT all window seats are the bomb. I really DO NOT LIKE being seated directly at the wings of the plane! I find that sometimes the wings can block a great view. I am very particular, I have to be able to see just a slight piece of the wing, but also a huge chunk of the great view. If you’re like me and like a bit of leg room plus a great view then I suggest that when booking your flight you take a good look at your flight seating map. This can help you get a better idea of what seats will help you with your great view. Rows 3-5 are usually amazing! The exit rows are great for those that need more leg room, and Three rows away from the wings of the plane is also great for that view you may want!

Let me know where you like to sit on a plane and why. I’m curious to hear your opinion.
